My ITK Journey
Since starting my ITK journey 3 years ago, I must say that this has been the BEST and most conscious decision that I have ever made for my health. It has become a lifestyle, not a fad.

I was introduced to ITK by friends of mine who were members. Initially, I was not interested as I saw it as too tedious and routine (I am not a routine person) and I was afraid that if I could not commit to the process then failure would be inevitable.

 

My decision to try ITK came when I reached a weight of nearly 170 (same weight I was when I delivered my twin girls 15 years ago!) Needless to say, I was overweight, unhappy, felt sluggish and lacking in self-esteem. I finally decided to call the ITK office and asked for a consultation. BEST DECISION EVER!!!

I started my ITK journey without telling anyone what I was doing as I did not want to feel pressured or accountable when I was cheating on my meals  Of course I cheated MANY times as most of the bad foods I loved seemed like a HUGE sacrifice for me. However, on seeing small positive results over time in my weight loss and feeling energetic and receiving many compliments, I decided to push harder each time. I combined my ITK assignments with exercise which I found helped me mentally to cope.

My ITK coaches Andrea Bryan and George Rattray were huge motivating support. I couldn’t have done it without them. Each time I messed up I was encouraged to keep pushing through. I am now 30 pounds less than I used to be and much healthier, happier and confident.

A bonus for me was having my 15 year-old daughter who became ill 2 years ago with a viral infection, was motivated by my journey to also start eating healthier. She has made HUGE strides herself in moving from size 18 to size 6, much healthier with no issues and is now the one motivating me to keep being healthy. My entire family has also made better choices themselves as a result of being motivated by me and we are now IN IT TO WIN IT!!! Stronger together…
