ITK Boost Tea with Melon

The Boost Juice tastes better when the amount of ginger, lemon and your chosen fruit (only (one) is balanced with the lemon. One of the following fruit can be added; Cucumber, watermelon or pineapple.

Watermelon, 2/3 Cup, 32 calories, 6 grams sugar
Cucumber, 1 medium, 35 calories, 1.7 grams sugar
Pineapple, 1/2 cup, 41 calories, 8 grams sugar

OPTIONAL

Remove fruits from the recipe and use 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup per cup.

INGREDIENTS

4 CUPS WATER

3 GREEN TEA BAGS AND 3 GINGER TEA SACHETS

2 LEMONS/ LIMES

1 SMALL CUCUMBER OR 2/3 CUP WATERMELON OR 1/2 CUP PINEAPPLE (OPTIONAL)

HONEY OR MAPLE SYRUP

*SMALL PINCH CAYENNE PEPPER (OPTIONAL)

*SMALL PINCH TUMERIC (OPTIONAL)

Please adjust ginger, cayenne and tumeric up or down as needed. If too much is added, it will be too hot.

DIRECTIONS

Make the ginger drink first. You can use 1″ piece of ginger or the ginger tea sachets as the base of your ITK Boost Juice.

Boil up to 4 cups of water

Add ginger tea powder/ grated ginger

Add 3 green tea bags to your ginger mixture and let it stand for a few minutes. Let it cool.

Add lemons or limes

Transfer cooled ginger-green mixture to the blender

OPTIONAL IF USING FRUITS

Add diced cucumber/melon/pineapple

Blend in the Peeled cucumber, melon or pineapple (without seeds)

Strain if you used cucumber and return to blender

*Add cayenne pepper and or tumeric to taste. Do this sparingly to ensure that too much pepper or ginger are not added.

Blend all the ingredients. Add ice for an even cooler and fresher drink

Chill or store in a cool container for use throughout the day.

Fine tune ingredients for your best taste, but do not overdo the fruits, honey or maple syrup. When you have that taste just pinch in the cayenne and tumeric. You should be able to taste the spicyness, but not be overwhelmed. Remember to record your portions and reuse or adjust if needed.

ITK Tip: Use as an alternative to a snack or in the evening to break night time cravings.

    1. We revised it as Members have different tastes. 1/2 tumeric and 1/4 cayenne can work, but its best to do it to taste. The ginger gives it that punch as well, so if you like the peppery taste you can use those measurements,

  2. I’ve read the recipe for the Green Boost Iced Tea and I’m a bit confused… does the cucumber go into the tea or is it eaten along with the tea each time the tea is drunk?
